Yesterday was ... Mother's Day

Thinking back to yesterday, Mother's Day, Dris made the whole day something special. More food than an army can eat and chocolate from only the best places. -smiles- The man knows how much I love chocolate but not anywhere near as much as I love him. -giggles- Well, maybe close. -looks down at big Prince bump- Big Prince. No longer little Prince or little man. He's getting so big I can't imagine he's got enough room in there to get any bigger. Dr. Felipe doesn't think it's a problem but what does he know? He's only a Doctor, after all. -smart _ss smirk-

Anyway... -still looking down at my belly- What do I know about being a mommy? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. _ell, I don't even know much about being a daughter! Being raised by vampires all these years, I know more about being a blood drinker than I do about being human. Being one of them would be as natural as breathing, even though they don't breath.. much, but if I was, I wouldn't have what I have now. -rubs a loving hand over big man Prince- Think I finally understand what Daniel was trying to tell me all those times we fought about him NOT turning me into one of them. How did he know this day would come and how I would feel about it? As long as I was with him, them, I never wanted to be anything else other than what they were. Stay up all night, sleep all day. Search around for the bad people in the world and -shows my non-existent fangs- grrr grrr, do their thing. I loved Daniel with all that I knew to love him with. All that I had been raised around but not what I really was. Human. -complicated- More than human, yeah, I got that but not one of them. A vampire. SO...........

Here I am. In love with a demon man, pregnant with his child and getting close to delivering our son. SCARED TO DEATH which brings me back to.... What do I know about being a mommy. NO-THING!!! Panic stuck, most times I appear normal. -haha, yeah right- BUT.....

I'll take a page out of the vampires book of child rearing 101 and apply it to now.

To our little Prince:

Mommy promises to:

Love you everyday of your life. No matter who you are, what you become and how many times you give me a scare and make me freak out. I will love you always.

Mommy promises to:

Take care of you from now until I can no longer be with you. No matter how old you get, where you go or what you do, you will always have a home where-ever I am. Home will always be with me. -daddy too but i'm talking about just me right now-

Mommy promises to:

Protect you from all things even when you don't think you need my protection or want it, I will be there to protect and guide you along whatever path you decide on. -that is not to say if you pick something really bad i won't put my .02 worth in about it-

Mommy promises to:

Teach you about love. Love is the most important thing you can give to another person and also, it's important to love yourself. You have to do the latter before you can do the first. Try it the other way around and things might get screwed up.

Mommy promises to:

Teach you about family. You see, family is not just something you are born into, like from daddy and me. Family is the people around you who will do everything I've written above. Family can be close friends, family can be a bunch of vampires who raise you or family can be YOU. Whatever the case my little.. -yep, you'll always be my little...- Prince, family are the ones around who love you best.

Mommy promises to:

Be with you always. Whether you can reach out and hug me or not, I will always be with you in... in your heart.

-looking up at the gardens at the coven house-

What do I know about being a mommy? -smiles finally- Guess I know a lot more than I think. -rubs my belly- Little Prince? -kick kick-

I think we're going to be just fine.

P.S. Mommy promises to:

Kick your butt when you screw up. -lovingly of course- After all, you're part imp-part demon. If your grandparent-vampires thought they had their hands and fangs full with me, they've got another thing coming. -laughing turned giggle fits- OH YEAH! This is a whole new generation... watch out coven! It won't be long now!

Happy Mommy's Day To Me.
