Mischievous Me

Thoughts on a page

I'm not much for writing but after what Driscoll told me I thought maybe if I wrote some of my thoughts down I would have a clearer understanding of what it all means. -rolls eyes- So yeah, here goes:

There once was a white peacock named... -blink blink- Oh brother. This is definitely not a limerick.

One day on the Island, Night's Island, our Island. -stops- Nope, not a Fairy Tale either. ((Just write Satin...)) OK, OK.

I remember the first time I saw the white peacock. I was sitting out one night on the patio with Stormy listening to the waves rushing in on the beach below us. It's not unusual for a fog like mist to come in from the ocean and this night that's exactly what happened. What came in that night that was different was the white peacock. It just walked up from out of the misty fog and sauntered it's way up the yard. I couldn't believe it. Living on an Island, visiting creatures aren't uncommon and had it been a multicolored peacock I might not have been so shocked but a WHITE one? Oh yeah, don't see many of them running around anywhere. It moved slowly like they do but once Stormy caught site of it I was sure it would run right back to where ever it came from. Her head shot up and her legs moved like she was going to take out after it but before I could stop her she tilted her head to one side, looked at it for another minute and then laid back down in her basket.

I moved closer to it very slowly, not wanting to startle it and settled down in the grass. I talked to it thinking that maybe, with my elemental gifts, it would somehow talk back to me. It didn't but it didn't back away or look as if it was even afraid of me. More like it was sizing me up, getting a feel for me. Getting to know me. A stranger. Or so I thought.

The white peacock didn't stay long that night. He strutted around for a while watching me, listening to me talk then possibly got tired of my rattling off at the mouth like I do and walked away. Or more like he faded away just like he had arrived.

I told Driscoll about it and later my papa Armand who had come to visit us after hearing I was pregnant. I was so happy to see him and especially back on the Island. He doesn't leave Paris much anymore and coming to see us on the Island was one of the best gifts he's ever given me. Funny, don't know if I ever told him that. He told me in all the time he's owned the Island, he never remembered ever seeing a white peacock. Driscoll had said he would keep an eye out for it, Papa Armand and I talked about it maybe belonging to a tourist. The other side of the Island is still a tourist attraction and is host to many shops, a mall and even has a few residents living there. Since it was originally owned by my Papa Armand and he's a Vampire, you can use your imagination as to why it was open to tourists. -impish Vampirery grin-

We did end up seeing that white peacock again. We were out on our boat one day enjoying the water and sun, anchored in a cove off the wild side of the Island when Driscoll spotted it on the shore. That time it didn't stay around long and since we were out in the boat we just assumed he was living out there in the wild. I remember being sad thinking that something from over there would eventually kill it and Driscoll promised to see if he could capture it and take it to the mainland before that happened but to this day, I've never seen it again. Driscoll caught site of it once when he was talking to James, our builder. He tried to follow it that day but it disappeared and that was the last time he saw it. Strange. Or so I thought.

Right after we found out I was pregnant with our son, I met a man while I was out shopping. His name was Adam Ramel. We ran into each other by accident and that thing that can happen when you walk on carpet and scuff your feet.. happened.. we shocked each other when we touched. I had dropped my shopping bags, startled when the arch between us sparked. Adam was kind enough to pick them up for me and handing them back. When he did, I noticed how kind the look in his eyes and that was how we meet. Strangers. Or so I thought.

He offered to walk me to my car which is the short of it all and while doing so he told me a little about himself to which I responded by telling him about the love of my life, my fiance Driscoll and that we had just found out we were having our first child. Something I thought for sure would never happen. He responded by telling me about his wife and that I reminded him of her. He has lost his wife and you could tell by the sound of his voice, the look on his face and my elemental intuition that he loved her very much and missed her to the very soul of his existence. His pain was deep, I felt it and it even brought tears to my eyes. I remember thinking how much I loved Driscoll and how blessed I was to have him in my life. Never, ever wanted to be apart from him, not one second that wasn't just..well.. normal. Adam touched me with his kindness, the love he had for his wife and his smiling eyes.

Months later I would run into Adam again at a mall in Paris while picking up my shoes for our wedding. A chance meeting. Or so I thought.

Driscoll and I had decided to go in two different directions at the mall picking up the things we needed for our wedding. His suit, -yeah a must have- my shoes and a few other odds and ends which never end up being odds and ends when it's your wedding. -no kidding- While sitting at one of the mall's cafe's before struggling to get up and move, there was Adam. He said he was on a business trip and I responded by telling him that Driscoll and I were getting married that Sunday at my families estate. He offered to walk with me and keep me company. I didn't think much of it at the time but our son reacted to him by kicking and getting excited. As my pregnancy progressed little... -oopsie, almost wrote down his name. giggles- our son had gotten very good at letting us know when he was happy, sad, excited or just plain uncomfortable. Kicking and moving in certain ways. Sending me warm, happy feelings I guess through our mother/son bond. I'm sure it has something to do with mine and Driscoll's lineage but who really knows these things when we ourselves don't even know. -rattle much Satin-

Our son seemed very accepting of Adam and when I told him this, thinking back on it now, it made him very happy. Those eyes again, the ones I had decided in this second meeting looked so much like Driscoll's that the two of them could almost be related. Strange that I would think that. Or so I thought.

There were other things that led me to the same conclusion but with the excitement of the wedding coming they quickly flew out of my head. Adam was touched and very honored to be accepted by our son. He even agreed to meet Driscoll this time though when I invited him to the wedding he declined saying he would only be in Paris that night. Before we could meet up with Dris, Adam got a phone call and had to go back to his meeting. He promised to come visit us though the next time he was on Night's Island and that was where I left it.

Our wedding took place a couple of days later and like any new bride, I forgot about things that happened only a few days before so I didn't mention meeting up with Adam until just a couple of days ago. My "husband" asked all the right questions and said all the right things but little did I know, his jealous side would rear it's head and send him on a course of action to search out this Adam Ramel for himself.

Normal searching got him nowhere so he took it upon himself to look through my Papa David's extensive data base of information on "things not so normal" ...

I can no longer write the word "Strange" - What Driscoll found was this...

The White Peacock IS Adam Ramel. Adam Ramel is not human. He is a God. His real is name Adramelech. Adramelech is Driscoll's father, The God of Storms.

What does Adramelech, The God of Storms want?

Our son!

So. Does that clear anything up? Nope, didn't for me either!

What IS clear is THIS: Driscoll's Father is not getting our son! -looks around before writing this last part- But I saw something in him that Driscoll is too emotional to see or maybe doesn't want to see. Adramelech cares for Driscoll. Loves him even and loved his wife, Driscoll's Mother very much. I will get to the bottom of this...

One way or another.
